Satya Yoga Greensburg Teachers

Michelle Keenan, E-RYT 200 and RPYT

Michelle is the owner and co-founder of Satya Yoga, LLC. Her warm, friendly teaching style is rooted in Vinyasa, yet with slower and deeper mindful movement. Vinyasa is a flowing style, linking the body's movement with the breath.  The breath is the tempo, and the body is the dance, giving students the opportunity to tap into their unique rhythm.

Michelle began practicing yoga in 2000, which encouraged her to adopt a more simple, holistic lifestyle. Her teaching career began in 2005 at the first yoga studio in Greensburg, Wisdom and Wonders, Inc., where she was mentored by Tracey Bartos Sheetz, former board member of the Yoga Alliance.  As an Experienced-Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT 200) and Registered Prenatal Yoga Teacher (RPYT) through the Yoga Alliance, Michelle is committed to providing all students with guided instruction based on many years of practice and study, and has learned to not take herself too seriously! Inspired by accessibility and inclusiveness, Michelle's classes are open to everyone who wants to reconnect with their own peaceful nature and authentically connect with others in a playful, nurturing, and safe environment.

Michelle is dedicated to the creation of community.  She volunteers regularly for a local organic farm, and has hosted donation-based yoga classes where 100% of the proceeds go to local organizations that are dedicated to service.

Michelle believes that our time on the mat allows us to observe how we react to life when we're off the mat. It's very important to remember that practicing yoga is not about achieving perfect alignment, or about how one looks. It's about showing up and being present...on the mat, as well as in life.

D'Anna Kromer

D’Anna V. Kromer- While attending an intensive self-actualization course popular in the 80’s, she was asked, “What do you want?” Her reply, “to be happy.” In 1986, she found her happy pill in Hatha yoga. She believes that the tree of yoga offers everyone access to their birthright; to be happy and free.
Teaching came naturally for her. She was an avid swimmer and certified lifeguard/swim instructor in college. Her summers were spent teaching at youth camps and to physically challenged individuals to compete in Para Olympics. After graduating from Southwestern University in Georgetown, TX with a degree in business, she discovered the new aerobics dance craze popular in the 80’s. Thanks to Jane Fonda and the encouragement of the dance studio owner, D’Anna became a certified Aerobics Dance Instructor.
A certified yoga instructor since 2003 and certified fitness instructor/trainer since 1986 with experience as diverse as the fitness industry. Some of her certifications include The Aerobics and Fitness Association of America, Aquatic Exercise Association, Madd Dogg Athletics, Silver Sneakers, PowerHouse Pilates, The Yoga Institute and Wisdom & Wellness. Since 2000, D’Anna has taught yoga and Pilates in various area locations: The Aerobic Center (Gbg.), Seton Hill (Gbg.), St. Vincent College (Latrobe), Westmoreland County Community College, Wisdom & Wellness (Gbg.), Laurel Ballet (Gbg.), MoonGlow Yoga (Gbg.), Inner Strength Yoga (N. Huntington), Yoga on Third (Irwin). In 2009, she completed the 200 hours prerequisite to become a Registered Yoga Instructor with the Yoga Alliance.
Most days of the week you will find her at My Fitness Kitchen (Latrobe) teaching many of the spinning and yoga classes. Each class although practical in content is made special with her musicality, intuitive flow, and motivating energy. D’Anna brings her friendly nature, caring & serving spirit, enthusiasm and wit to every class. One of her favorite quotes, Quality is never an accident. It is always the result of high intention, sincere effort and skillful execution. - a clothing label (no kidding). Yoga is our quality time uniting the self and spirit.
She & her husband, Mike, married 24 years, enjoy their family life in Norvelt, Pa. Their daughter, Haylie, graduates from MercyHurst University May 2017, and son, Adam, attends Mount Pleasant High School. D’Anna is a student at Health Coach Institute and will soon offer health coaching services

Aside from his commitment to Tai Chi he has also had many other life changing experiences. He has back packed across Europe, hiked the Appalachian Trail and meditated in India for a month without speaking. In addition, Matt  has also been a Licensed Massage Therapist since 2004.

Sarah Stevey

Sarah found her love of yoga through Buti Yoga, a very transformative practice. She started practicing Buti in January 2015 as a promise to make more time for herself and found happiness, health and so much more along the way. Sarah strives to bring out the best in each of her students through movement, mindfulness and pure connection. Specifically focusing on empowering other women to be "unapologetcially you" and harness their personal power and strength. She became a Certified Buti Yoga instructor in January 2016, completed her 200 hour Registered Yoga Teacher training in July 2017 and also carries a Business/Marketing Management degree. Sarah's classes are sure to make you break a sweat! Whether in Buti Yoga or Vinyasa - Sarah builds her classes to the tempo of music and flows from the heart. You'll be sure to feel energized, empowered and zenned out after class. Filled with intention and mindfulness, Sarah teaches spontaneously (not planning anything out ahead of time) and lets the energy of the room and music move your body. The music is loud and she encourages you to let it go on the mat.
